Roman Farming

Most of the Roman farming was done by African slaves.  Some of the primary foods in rome were grapes and olives.  Olives were used to make olive oil and they were traded with other countries for other things in return.  The grain that the romans grew were mainly harvested by hand until the first century of A.D.  Rome has such a large population that they do not have enough food to feed all of the Romans so they get lots of grain imported from North America, espscially Egypt.
